Open Document Format for Office Applications (ODF for short) v1.0 is an OASIS standard issued on May 1st, 2005, and it has become an ISO standard recently in May, 2006. It is a standardized XML-based file format specification suitable for office applications. It covers the features required by text, spreadsheets, charts, and graphical documents.
Specification for the Chinese office file format based on XML (UOF for short) is a National Standard of the People¡¯s Republic of China. It is a specification that specifies the Chinese office file format, including text, spreadsheet and presentation files (charts, graphical contents and other contents are included in these three applications).
Both of the two specifications are XML-based file format specifications, with the purpose of compatibility and supporting the interconverting among diverse office file formats. They also both include all elements that constitute office applications.
The ODF-UOF Converter provides a way to convert docs(text/spreadsheet/presentation) between ODF and UOF¡£Results of the converter can be opened and displayed correctly with the corresponding office software (Suggesting OpenOffice.org 2.0 for ODF and EIOffice 2007 for UOF)
